AI literacy made for tertiary students across Africa, and open to students everywhere. Understand the technology, dodge the risks, and turn AI into real study, work, and career skills.
Most students either fear AI or misuse it. This course makes you the person who understands it: how it works, where it lies, and how to make it genuinely useful.
Tokens, training, prediction, and why AI sounds confident even when it's wrong. No maths, no jargon.
Hallucinations, bias, data privacy, and IP. Learn the verification habit that keeps you out of trouble.
Prompting, study techniques, productivity workflows, and a personal toolkit you keep for your whole degree.
Your competitor isn't AI. It's the peer who learned it. Graduate as the AI-literate one in your field.
Each module has plain-language lessons, a hands-on exercise, and a short quiz. Roughly 4 to 5 hours total.
Every graduate earns a personalised certificate that anyone, anywhere, can verify in seconds.
No subscription. Pay once, keep lifetime access including every future update.
By paying you accept the Terms of Use, including the refund policy, and performance begins immediately.
Because AI is already in your studies, your future workplace, and your pocket, whether you asked for it or you didn't. Students who understand how it works use it to learn faster and produce better work; students who don't either avoid it out of fear or misuse it and get caught out. Graduates who can use AI well, honestly, and with judgement are exactly what employers now look for. This course makes you that graduate.
Three things. It was born in Africa and engineered for real conditions here: the whole course weighs less than a minute of video, works offline after your first visit, and costs a once-off R249. It is honest: it teaches you where AI fails, why it fails, and how to verify, rather than selling hype. And it ends in a certificate that can actually be verified by anyone you show it to.
The entire course is smaller than a short video clip. After your first visit it is saved on your phone or computer and works with your data switched off: lessons, exercises and quizzes included. You only need a connection to pay, to claim your certificate, and for someone to verify it.
Yes, of course. AfriLearn is made with African students in mind, and it is open to everyone, everywhere. The skills, the honesty about how AI works, and the verifiable certificate travel well. Payment is in South African rand (R249, roughly US$14).
No account, no password, no login. Your progress saves automatically on your own device and is still there when you come back, even weeks later. Two honest caveats: progress lives in the browser you used, so it does not follow you to a different device, and clearing your browser data erases it. Your certificate is different: once issued it is permanent, and its ID can be verified forever, so keep a note of your certificate ID.
Paying unlocks the full course. The certificate is earned separately: you must pass the quiz for every one of the ten modules, capstone included, at 75 percent or better, with unlimited attempts. Every certificate carries a unique, cryptographically signed ID. Anyone can type that ID into our verification page and instantly see that it is genuine, in whose name it was issued, and when. That is what makes it worth putting on your CV and LinkedIn.
Yes, in about ten seconds, with no login: they open the verify page, paste your certificate ID, and see the result. A certificate that fails verification, or one whose ID does not exist, is not ours. This is why a screenshot cannot fake it.
Module 1 is completely free, no card needed. The full course is a once-off R249, paid securely through PayFast. No subscription, and every future update of the course is included.
